Packing Hacks For Your Summer Holiday

Now that winter is at prime time and everyone is lacking a sunshine  we all are dreaming about summer months and planning what summer holidays we are going to book and where. Summer holidays are always amazing and they allow us to have the freedom and the heat we crave all year long. If you want to make your holiday the best it can be this year, here are some quick packing hacks you need to know.

Pack the roof

If you are going on a holiday in this country and you are using a car as a mean of transportation how to get to your final destination, one thing which I find to be helpful is a Roof Racks DIY Solution such as a box for your car. This will allow you to pack things to the car’s roof which save room in the trunk for things such as food and emergency items if you need them.

Make a list

We all know that horrible feeling as soon as we are at the cab driving to the airport we start thinking whether we have everything what we wanted to take with us. If you want to overcome this terrifying feeling and want to make sure that you took every item which you planned to take – the best solution would be to make a list and tick items off as they go into your luggage . It might seem unnecessary at first but this can really make a difference to your packing and it will ensure that nothing is left behind when you leave.

For example, these are the kind of things you’ll want to add to your list:

  • Underwear (plus 2 spares)
  • Swimwear
  • Trousers
  • Shorts
  • Skirt
  • Dresses
  • T-shirts
  • Vests
  • Jumper (for the plane)
  • Shoes
  • Flip flops
  • Sun cream
  • After the sun
  • Makeup
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Shower gel
  • Toothbrush and toothpaste
  • Razor or wax
  • Skincare
  • Hair tie and brush
  • Cables for devices
  • Adapter for chargers
  • Snacks
  • Water

Of course, everyone is different and will bring different things, but this can be a good starting point.

Roll not fold

The main argument people will have when packing up a suitcase is whether it is more space efficient to roll their clothes or fold them up. We just want to say that rolling is much more space saving and it prevents annoying creases which you would get from folding your clothes. When rolling up socks and underwear make sure to stuff them into your shoes for an extra layer of space.

Place cables in a glasses case

When you finally arrive to your holiday destination and you come to unpack your things there can be nothing more annoying than having to try and detangle your cables from your bag. You can overcome this issue by rolling and packing your cables into a sunglasses case before you set off. This will keep them neat and tidy during your journey so when you arrive you can use all your electronic devices immediately.

Bring travel tubs for makeup

Instead of hauling your whole makeup bag to the other side of the world, an easy way to save a lot of space would be to get some small lip balm tins and squeeze a week’s worth of foundation into it and do the same with your other items. When it comes to eyeshadow you can easily scrape some off the pan and place it in a small container. This might even encourage you to be more minimal with your makeup which can be great for your skin.
